Action Potential Physical Therapy

Patient-Centered Care

With Action Potential Physical Therapy, our focus is on you.

We prioritize a patient-centered approach to physical therapy, with customized rehabilitation plans designed to address your unique needs and goals. We believe you deserve personalized, one-on-one care throughout your entire treatment journey.

Personalized Physical Therapy

Today’s healthcare can feel impersonal, driven more by numbers than by genuine patient care. We’re here to change that.

Our clinic offers a welcoming, non-cookie-cutter experience where your well-being is at the heart of everything we do.

Our goal is to uncover and address the underlying dysfunction, enabling you to return to your life, the gym, and daily activities faster—and to stay pain-free longer.

Our Approach

Comprehensive Evaluation

Your journey starts with a 60-minute evaluation by a Doctor of Physical Therapy. This in-depth assessment looks not only at your current limitations and root causes of pain but also at how your injury affects your life and goals.

Targeted Treatment

We focus on your specific dysfunctions to return you to your optimal, pain-free state quickly. Unlike the “rest and see” approach, we proactively treat the root causes and limitations.

Long-Term Wellness

Beyond hands-on recovery, we provide you with tools to maintain a pain-free life. Our continuum of care is designed to give you the confidence to return to activities that may have once caused discomfort.

Even if you’re not injured, our biomechanics-centered evaluation can help you identify and address performance limitations. The goal? A targeted approach to enhancing your overall physical performance.

Payment Info

Action Potential Physical Therapy is an out-of-network, fee-for-service provider. While we don’t accept insurance, this enables us to focus on delivering high-quality, patient-centered care without limitations imposed by insurance companies.

  • Payment is due at the time of service, with debit and all major credit cards accepted.
  • Superbill: Upon request, we provide superbills for you to submit to your insurance for potential reimbursement based on your out-of-network benefits. Please check with your provider for details, as we cannot guarantee reimbursement.

  • Doctorate of Physical Therapy — Youngstown State University, OH

Biography

Dr. Meische Cox’s journey to becoming a physical therapist began with a series of major knee injuries that ignited her passion for rehabilitation. Through high school and college, she spent years as a physical therapy patient, experiencing firsthand the powerful impact of a dedicated rehab team. Her drive and resilience allowed her to return to competition after each injury, ultimately achieving four-year varsity status in soccer, basketball, and swimming at Frostburg State University.

With her Bachelor’s in Athletic Training from Frostburg, Dr. Cox gained invaluable experience working with college-level athletes from various sports backgrounds, where she developed individualized rehab protocols. She went on to work as a Certified Athletic Trainer at Lowellville High School in Ohio, where she established their athletic training program, providing comprehensive care for all student-athletes.

Pursuing her Doctorate of Physical Therapy at Youngstown State, Dr. Cox gained broad experience through rotations in ICU, pediatrics, and outpatient settings. Her post-graduate career began at Pivot Physical Therapy, where she treated a diverse array of post-surgical and orthopedic patients, specializing in concussion care and sports-related rehabilitation. Known for her expertise in treating athletic injuries, she handled a substantial sports caseload and earned a reputation as a skilled provider in sports-based rehab.

Career

Dr. Cox’s career has taken her across the United States, including Alaska, where she served active-duty military members with the United States Air Force, helping them return to duty and maintain mission readiness. Her experience spans outpatient clinics, sports facilities, and sub-acute rehab environments, allowing her to work with patients of all ages, backgrounds, and fitness levels.

Her time as both a patient and a provider has shaped her holistic approach to physical therapy, emphasizing personalized care and long-term recovery. Her passion for health and fitness extends beyond the clinic; she actively participates in diverse fitness environments, from CrossFit and boxing to yoga and cycling.

Experience

Dr. Cox has worked with athletes from semi-professional to youth levels, adjusting her rehab protocols to suit a wide range of needs, including neurological conditions, post-surgical recovery, and athletic performance optimization. She’s committed to helping each patient, whether they’re training for competition or simply striving for an active lifestyle, return to their best self.

Aspiration

Dr. Cox’s goal is to help every “athlete” — whether competitive, recreational, or simply pursuing an active life — achieve optimal recovery and a return to the activities they’re passionate about.
